Group Information

If you are an internal staff member who will be submitting requests on your own behalf (i.e. not for a group, team, club, etc), use your first and last name as the Group Name. Group 1: School or Child-related Groups or other Government Agencies include those organizations in the Riverside Community whose main purpose is to promote the welfare of boys and girls or to provide members for the community access to government programs or opportunities for civic participation. Examples are: Scouts, Campfire, PTO, 4-H, city or county sponsored recreation groups, polling places, political caucuses and governmental groups. When facilities are used outside of regular school hours or the district incurs extra utility, cleaning or supervision costs, a fee, to be established by the superintendent, shall be charges to recoup those costs. Group 2: Nonprofit Groups include groups outside the Riverside community and those organizations which might wish to use school facilities for lectures, promotional activities, rallies, entertainment, college courses, and other activities not sponsored by the Riverside Community for which public halls or commercial facilities generally are rented or owned. The district shall charge a rental rate in excess of costs incurred, except that such excess charges may be waived when a service club or nonprofit group is raising funds for charitable purposes. To be granted this exception, the charitable organization must be recognized by the Philanthropic Division of the Better Business Bureau. Professional fundraisers representing charities must provide evidence that they are registered and bonded by the state of Washington. Such fund-raising must provide evidence that the charity will receive at least sixty (60) percent of the gross revenue prior to using the facilities. Similar treatment may be granted to public universities and colleges when offering college courses within the community or when any university. College in offering a course for staff and the request of the district. Nonprofit groups of the kind that in most communities have their own facilities (churches, lodges, veterans' groups, granges, etc.) who wish to use the district facilities on a regular, but temporary, basis may do so under this rental rate, but for no more than two years and may not average more than twelve hours of use per week. Group 3: Commercial Enterprises include profit-making organizations and business-related enterprises. While the district would prefer these organizations use commercial or private facilities, facilities may be rented for nonregular use at the prevailing rate charged by commercial facilities in the area. District-sponsored activities including curricular, and co-curricular functions, retain first priority in use of facilities. Authorization for use of school facilities shall not be considered as endorsement of or approval of the activity group or organization nor for the purposes it represents.

Insurance. Lessee shall procure and maintain in force, without cost of expense to Lessor, on or before the commencement date of this Agreement and throughout the Agreement term or as long as the Lessee remains in possession of the Facility, a broad form comprehensive general liability policy of insurance covering bodily injury and property damage, with respect to the use and occupancy of the Facility with liability limits of not less than $5,000,000, per occurrence. Lessor shall be named as additional insured on all such policies, which policies shall in addition provide that they man not be cancelled or modified for any reason without fifteen (15) days prior written notice to Lessor. Lessee shall provide Lessor with a certificate or certificates of such insurance within ten (10) days of the execution of this Agreement. Return of the Property. At the time of termination of this Agreement, Lessee shall return the Facility to Lessor in as good a condition as the same was at the time the Lessee took possession hereunder, reasonable wear and tear due to reasonable use and occupancy, in conformance with the provisions of this Agreement excepted. Any damage to the physical structures or infrastructure shall be repaired by Lessee. Agreement to Indemnify Lessee shall indemnify the Lessor from, and against, any and all claims, demands, causes of action, suits or judments, including but not limited to, any claims of insurance carriers, the Department of Labor and Industries, the Department of Social and Health Services, and any federal agency, health care provider or governmental taxation agency, (including costs and expenses incurred in connection therewith), for deaths or injuries to persons or for loss of or damage to property arising out of, or in connection with, the use and occupancy of the Facility by Lessee, its agents, servents, employees or invitees. In the event of any claims made or suits filled, Lessor shall give Lessee prompt written notice thereof and Lessee shall have the right to defend or settle the same to the extent of its interest hereunder. Assignment. Lessee shall not assign, convey or transfer this Agreement or any interest here in, without the prior written consent of the Lessor. Notice. Any notice, declaration, demand or communication to be given by a party to this Agreement to the other shall be in writing and transmitted to the other party by personal service or certified U.S. mail, return receipt requested, postage fully prepaid, addressed as follows:
